You Better Show Up!

This is the time of year when a new school year is cranking up for students attending elementary, middle school, high school, colleges, and universities.    I have always admired those students who graduate with perfect attendance for a school year.    There are a few people I know that have the distinction of having perfect attendance from kindergarten to the end of their  high school.    Surely it says something  about them and their parents that they always had showed up everyday.  Certainly there were times they perhaps had a cold or wanted to take a day off.   Yet, they persevered and showed up.

My suspicion is there are many of you reading this who have visions and dreams of having a successful career as a full time or part time real estate investor or as a note investor.    There are many gurus out there that can teach all kinds of things and offer you advice for a sum of money or if you attend their webinar.      I want to offer you some important advice that is basic to success in not only your investment pursuits, but in any endeavor in life.   It is this:   SHOW UP!

You may be limited in the capital in your bank account.   You may think that a note is something that you give to a friend during a class at school instead of a promissory note on a piece of real estate.    You may be young or you may be old.     Irregardless, show up!   Show up at real estate meetings or lunch gatherings with mentors eager to learn.    Show up on time and be willing to pay the bill for the coffee or food to share as what that mentor can offer you can far more valuable than the cost of the meal.    Show up ready to talk to  clients when you get a lead on a potential deal to buy a property or to  buy a note.     Show up each day and week eager to learn and work on your goals

There is a lot to learn as a real estate and note investor.      Always, always there is more to learn partly due to the truth that the market is always changing and you  nor do I know it all.    First and foremost, show up!    Best wishes in all your real estate investment pursuits.-   R.L. Wall
